Privacy Policy

A clear, short explanation of how this site handles your information.

Last updated: September 2026

What this site collects

Divine Karma is meant to be a quiet corner of the internet, and I want to be plain about what happens when you visit.

Information you choose to send. When you use the contact form, I receive what you type: your name, your email address, the subject you selected, and your message. When you sign up for the Sunday letter or request the free first chapter, I receive your email address and, if you give it, your first name.

Analytics. The site uses Google Analytics 4 to understand, in aggregate, which pages are read and how visitors find them. Google Analytics uses cookies and collects information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, the type of device and browser you use, and your approximate location. IP addresses are anonymized. I see summary reports, not individual identities.

Embedded video. The Illustrated Guide page shows a video from the Divine Karma YouTube channel through YouTube’s privacy-enhanced mode (youtube-nocookie.com). When the video loads and plays, YouTube, a Google service, may collect information such as your IP address, device details, and viewing activity under Google’s Privacy Policy.

Advertising measurement. The site uses Google Ads tags to measure whether ads for the books lead people to the site, and to record when a visitor clicks a “Buy on Amazon” button. These tags may set cookies and may allow Google to show Divine Karma ads to people who have visited the site (remarketing). Some Amazon links carry Amazon Attribution tags, which tell me how many clicks a link received. They are not affiliate links.

How that information is used

Contact form messages are used to reply to you and, if appropriate, continue the conversation. Sunday letter addresses are used only to send you the letter. Analytics and advertising data are used to improve the site and to decide where to share the books. I never sell or rent your personal information, and I do not add you to any mailing list without your consent.

Where it is stored

Contact messages and newsletter sign-ups are received through Netlify Forms, the service that hosts this site, and passed to my inbox. Analytics and advertising data are processed by Google. Each of these services has its own privacy practices, which you can read on their websites, including how Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Cookies and your choices about them

Google Analytics and Google Ads set cookies in your browser, and YouTube may store data in your browser when the embedded video plays. The hosting provider may also set a small number of essential technical cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, install the Google Analytics opt-out add-on, and manage personalized advertising at Google’s Ad Settings. The site works normally without these cookies.

Third party links

The site links out to Amazon for book purchases and to social media platforms. Once you click away, the privacy policy of that destination applies. I have no access to the information those platforms collect about you.

Affiliate disclosure

The Amazon links on this site are direct purchase links. David is not currently enrolled in the Amazon Associates program and does not earn affiliate commission from your purchase. The links are provided as a convenience. If this changes in the future, this section will be updated and a visible disclosure added next to the buy buttons themselves.

Children

This site is written for adult readers. It is not designed for children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.

Your choices

You can unsubscribe from the Sunday letter at any time with the link in every email. If you have written to me and would like your message and email removed, or would like to know what I have on file for you, ask through the contact page and I will honor it.

Changes

If this policy ever changes, the revised date at the top of this page will be updated. Significant changes will be noted on the home page for a reasonable period.

Questions about this policy can go to the same address as anything else: the contact page.
