Disclosures

How the links on this site work, and how you can tell a recommendation from a paid placement.

Amazon affiliate links

Divine Karma Institute, Inc. is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, David earns from qualifying purchases.

In plain terms: when you follow an Amazon link from this site and buy something, Amazon pays a small commission. The price you pay is the same as if you had gone to Amazon directly. Amazon handles the order, payment, shipping, returns, and customer service. This site never sees your Amazon account or payment details.

Most Amazon links here point to David's own books. The commission on those is small next to the author royalty, so the real reason the links carry a tag is to see which pages and letters actually lead to a purchase.

Other retailers

Where a Bookshop.org link appears, it is also an affiliate link. Bookshop.org pays a commission on purchases made through it and shares part of every sale with independent bookstores. The price is the same for you.

Recommendations versus paid placements

Books by other authors appear on this site for one of two reasons, and the difference is always labeled.

Editorial pick. David read the book and chose to mention it. Nobody paid for the mention. The retailer link may still be an affiliate link, which is disclosed as above.

Partner feature. An author or publisher paid a fee, or agreed to a revenue share, for a placement. Those placements carry the words "Partner feature" or "Paid placement" where they appear, in the Sunday Letter as well as on the site. A paid placement is never presented as an independent recommendation.

What this site does not do

No reviews are bought, traded, or solicited in exchange for anything. No reward, rebate, or discount is offered for using an affiliate link. No claim is made about sales, rankings, or results for any book, including David's own.
